Tastes of Panmure
Tastes of the Old Silk Road Tour
Enjoy foods fit for Ottoman Sultans, Chinese Emperors and Princes of the Raj. Panmure literally takes us on a food tour of the old trading routes from Persia to Korea, and south into SE Asia.
Persian flatbread from the start of the Old Silk Road pairs perfectly with Korean kimchi from the end of the land road- and in the middle we have famous Chinese fare; preserved or cooked in different ways – dumplings, smoked, traditional duck. The silk road branches south to India & Sri Lanka for dishes prepared using highly sought spices. We finish back at the start with Middle Eastern sweet treats.
- Because of the diet diversity experienced across the Old Silk Road it is difficult to cater for special dietary needs, but we can offer some vegetarian options.
- Allow 3 hours rain or shine – Meeting point: Outside library entrance, 13 Pilkington Rd, Panmure 1072- starting at 12.30pm
